Question by DaJaw Breaka: What's the difference between "fuimos" and "eramos" in espanol? Help a brotha out..?

When you say : Cuando eramos jovenes... Why can't you use Cuando fuimos jovenes...???

Can somebody help me with my espanol?

eramos is the tense for estar
fuimos is the tense for ir/ser
in this context, your youth is a state of being for which you can only use estar tenses. youth is a temporary state of being. also if you said, the soup it hot, well it won't always be hot so you have to use estar. if you say she is a woman, she'll always be a woman so you use ser. i hope that makes sense
